Counseling services are available to all students at McLane. All students participate in Counselor Connection Lessons that are delivered in the classroom. These lessons are intended to support and complement the efforts of parents and the classroom teacher. 

The primary goal of Counselor Connection is to provide information, teach skills, and provide practice to prevent problems before they begin.  The objectives of these lessons focus on the following themes:

• Academic Success
• Healthy Behaviors
• Relationships
• Transitions
• Careers
• Personal/School Safety

Individual counseling is available to students on a short term or intermittent basis. Referral for counseling may be done by the parent, the teacher, or the student.

The invitation is always open to visit a Counselor Connection Lesson or visit the counselor and find out what school counseling is all about.
